summer instagram

I know summer isn't over just yet--and I'm definitely not wishing it away--but I wanted to post a collage of a few of my summer instagram pics thus far. My summer in NYC has been nothing but amazing. Below you'll find a few cab rides, some favorite warm-weather clothing items, a day on the job, summer food (and beverages;) ), and a few shots from a trip back to my roots (Thidwick included..).

Here are a few snaps from wondering around the East Village. Likewise with the colorful backdrops scattered through the area, I was sporting a couple vibrant pieces myself.

weekend field trip

Last weekend I took a trip to a neighboring town. It was an eclectic little place with great food and some interesting shops.

cargo pants

I bought a pair of cargo pants (not the skinny-fashionable kind, but the baggy-i-just-returned-from-'nam kind) and I just can't get enough of them. They're super comfy and I have plenty of pockets to store my belongings, no need for a purse (ha..ha). But in actuality, they really are great. They inspired me to sketch my own cargo-ish pants, so I though I'd share. There's a sense of androgyny to the croquis pairing a clean, soft, tailored top with the rugged grungy pant (or maybe it's the fact that they're bald?). Regardless, it's a combo that makes me happy. Androgyny in fashion is a trend that I hope continues to develop and last.
